A Message from Joe
Spring is in the air! Big Beat Music Studio has some exciting events in the coming months. We are excited to be invited to perform at the Spring Lake Five Mile Run where thousands of people put their sneakers on to run for charity. We are still working out the details and are so honored to be invited.
Also, the Big Beat Annual Music Showcase is going to be in the summer so you can bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a wonderful performance by students of all levels. All of the teachers and staff at Big Beat are so proud of the students who performed in 2021 at Riley Park in Bradley Beach, and we look forward to this years event. As we get closer to the date, we will inform you of all the details.
We want to welcome new staff member Jackie Martin to the Big Beat family. Jackie has been a wonderful addition as our office assistant.
As the nice weather approaches, it’s important for students to enjoy their stress free summertime, and music can continue to be a part of that. Developing music skill doesn’t end with the school year. It’s important to continue to teach students to dedicate themselves to something, this is an key lesson in life!

Pet of the Month Contest
Meet Pumpkin, the winner of the Pet of the Month Contest for March 2022. Pumpkin is feisty and thinks he is a dog sometimes! He greets anyone who comes in the door and snuggles at bedtime. Congratulations to Andrews piano student Madison Molnar and her family for winning the Pet of the Month $25 gift card! Also congrats to Max and Hershey who are runners up and will be included in the next Pet of the Month contest.
Have a cute picture of your pet? Submit it to Big Beat Music’s Pet of the Month Contest, and if you’re a winner, you will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card! Start taking some fun photos of you with your pet and email them to bigbeatstudio@aol.com. Don’t forget to include your pet’s name and a little something about them! Our Rock Star Achievement Program Continues to Inspire!
Rock Star Achievement Program
This proven system gets students excited about music and helps keep parents ‘informed’ as to how they are progressing. Similar to karate belt tests, every few months or so teachers will evaluate their students. As they progress they will receive one of these really cool wristbands for their level. They will also get trophies and other awards at certain levels as part of the “Merit System” we have already had in place. This type of program has been proven to inspire students, bring a smile to parents’ faces and we all feel proud of the progress being made!

Meet the Stick Around for the Snare Devils
They are the FUN Percussion Ensemble Group that everyone is talking about and headed by Big Beat Music teacher, Rob Crowther! Coming soon to a stage near you!
What is it?
The percussion ensemble is a class geared to learn different rhythmic styles in a group setting. They will be using drum sets along with several other percussion instruments.
Who should join?
Whether you are already taking drum lessons and find enjoyment in a group setting or are playing another instrument and want to learn about the rhythmic styles to enhance your current instrument, this class can be for YOU whether you are a current student or not!
