Joe Nevolo - Music Director for Big Beat Music Studio
Joe's passion for music began early in life following his Dad's footsteps, as he started giving drum lessons when he was just 13 years old. Over the years, Joe later performed locally and nationally, receiving recognition as a phenomenal drummer along the way. Joe had quickly developed a following and had many students across the state of New Jersey.
In 1983 Joe created Big Beat Studio School of Music and is currently the Educational Director, where he and his teaching staff have helped thousands of students achieve their musical goals for over 30 years.
Ask anyone in the music biz about Joe Nevolo, and chances are they know someone who has worked with him at some point over the past two decades. Joe is a veteran musician who has played with more than 200 local, national, and international bands and recording artists. Joe has performed both on stage and in the recording studio with prestigious artists and bands such as Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Shadow Gallery, Phantoms Opera (included members of Bon Jovi), Greg Howe, Jesse Bolt (opened for the band U2), Stephen Ross, and Pat Travers.
During this time, Joe has been an audition finalist for top bands, including Kiss, Bon Jovi, and the E Street Band. He has been featured in national and regional publications such as Modern Drummer Magazine (for his innovative methods for teaching special needs children), East Coast Rocker, Creative Drummer Magazine, and local news including the Asbury Park Press, The Herald, The Coaster and more. Joe has studied with renowned drummers such as Carmine Appice, Joe Morello, Lenny White, Kenwood Dennard (Manhattan Transfer and Jaco), and Sonny Igoe.
Currently, Joe plays with national act Jesse Kinch, winner of ABC's first-ever "Rising Star" competition. Over the years, Joe has been approached by legendary musicians that include Yngwie Malmsteen guitar virtuoso, Gregg Rolie keyboard player with Journey and Santana, and the management company from the band "The Cult."
