What can I expect to learn from my lessons? 

You can learn to play the drums at any age! Depending on your level, lessons on drums will include learning the fundamentals, rudiments including all American, Swiss, and Hybrid rudiments, equipment care, time and groove, warm-up techniques and best practices, snare drum techniques, drum fills, and much, much more! You will also learn how to read notation and theory, playing along with your favorite songs. 

What if I do not have a drum set at home? 

No problem! While you are at Big Beat, we have drum sets to teach you all you need to know. Until you are ready to purchase a drum set, all you need are drumsticks, a note pad, and a drum pad for practicing at home. Will the students be doing any performances? 

Yes, they do! Each year Big Beat Music organizes a student showcase where they can walk the red carpet and perform on a professional stage. This exciting event gives our drumming students a chance to show their family and friends how far they have come. Our drumming students can also participate in other events held throughout the year. 

What style of music will I be learning? 

Our experienced instructors teach a wide variety of styles to fit your musical goals. Some of our drum students have learned to perform songs by rock bands such as Metallica, The Beatles, Rush, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Blink 182, and Green Day. But regardless of your musical interest, Big Beat Music can get you jamming from rock to pop, jazz, country, classical or blues. Our teachers will get to know the student's interests and pick the song that is right for you!
